Innovative Assessment Strategies Unveiled at ULAB's CETL Training
The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) at the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) hosted a comprehensive training session on Assessment of Learning on May 30, 2024. The event, inaugurated by CETL Director Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain, focused on equipping new faculty members with effective assessment strategies.
Fifteen faculty members from various departments actively participated in the training, engaging in discussions and posing questions about implementing and measuring the impact of learning initiatives. The session featured presentations by Golam Kader Zilany, who highlighted the integration of assessment into teaching, and Professor Jude William Genilo, who emphasized authentic assessment and assessment rubrics.
Wazir A. F. Ahmad led a session on constructive alignment and online assessment. In addition, Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal, Dr. Nafees Mansoor, and Dr. Kazi Md. Tarique discussed departmental assessment strategies, academic integrity, and grade calculation.
The training session facilitated collaborative learning and knowledge exchange, underscoring ULAB's commitment to innovative teaching methodologies and continuous professional development.
