CETL organizes Training on Assessment for Learning

ULAB's CETL conducted its fourth Induction Training module, 'Assessment for Learning,' on 1 March 2025.

Golam Kader Zilany, Coordinator, CETL, welcomed the participants and introduced the importance of quality assessment and how it is incorporated into teaching. Dr. Mohammad Shazzad Hossain, Director CETL, presented on authentic assessment and rubrics and their significance in quality learning. He also discussed modern digital approaches to evaluation and their implications for learning. Dr. Nafees Mansoor, Associate Professor CSE, presented a session on academic integrity and ULAB policy with a focus on ethical assessment practices. Dr. Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal led the final technical session on departmental evaluation and Excel grade calculation. Golam Kader Zilany wrapped up the workshop, stressing the importance of proper evaluations in order to improve student learning outcomes.

The module equipped teaching members with the knowledge and practices of creating fair assessments, meeting CETL's goal of augmenting teaching and learning at ULAB.
