Blended Learning Committee Formed
ULAB’s Hybrid Learning Committee has been re-constituted. The Chairman is Arifa Rahman, Associate Professor and Acting Head of the Department of English and Humanities (DEH). The members of the committee are Asif Uddin Ahmed, Assistant Professor of ULAB School of Business (USB), Dr. Mohammad Shazzad Hossain, Assistant Professor of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ) and Director of Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), Dr. Mirza Rasheduzzaman, Associate Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Dr. Ashikur Rahman, Assistant Professor, Computer Science and Engineering (CSE). Dr Sarkar Barbaq Quarmal, Associate Professor of Media Studies and Journalism (MSJ), Rumana Liza Anam, Assistant Professor of ULAB School of Business (USB), M. Shahidul Islam Khondaker, Lecturer of General Education Department (GED), Sk. Habibur Rahman, Joint Registrar of ULAB, and Kazi Razib Ahmed, Assistant Manager of ULAB IT.
Blended learning combines different delivery media or instructional methods, including face-to-face and online, virtual, or digital learning. Physical and virtual interfaces must complement each other for teaching and learning. The blended learning practice currently includes online educational materials and opportunities for online interaction blended with traditional, classroom-based methods. It requires the physical presence of both teacher and student, with some elements of student control over time, place, path, or pace. Successfully applying information and communication technology (ICT) is primely important in teaching-learning. The blended learning policy that the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh can adopt for the higher education institutions under UGC jurisdiction.
