Generative AI has the potential to reshape educational approaches, stated Dr. M. Shazzad Hossain, Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL), at a seminar held on October 31, 2024, at ULAB. Organized by CETL, the event focused on the adaptation of generative AI in higher education, examining its potential risks and benefits in teaching and learning.

Led by Iram Mehrin, a senior lecturer at the Center for Language Studies (CLS), the seminar gathered sixteen ULAB faculty members. Mehrin discussed how generative AI could enhance educational experiences, frameworks for its use, and ethical considerations. She also highlighted AI's role in assessments and the challenges it may bring.

The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing faculty members to voice their concerns, share experiences, and explore the future role of AI in education.
